Mathematical modelling of military technical equipment degradation (2023)

Supervisors: Zdenek Vintr

Keywords: lectronic element, light-emitting diode (LED), military vehicle, accelerated test, Wiener process, statistical regression, remaining useful life, first hitting time.

The work proposes a procedure for mathematical modelling of degradation based on the use of the results of accelerated reliability tests. The proposed procedure enables continuous monitoring of the degradation level and effective prediction of the mean operating time to failure of military equipment elements under given operating conditions and environment. Similarly, the proposed method also allows prediction of the residual useful life of a given element. The practical applicability of the proposed methods and procedures was experimentally verified for power LEDs used in military equipment.
